    Golf Tourney
    Silent Auction

    Sunday, June 10th, 2018

Our “Cheesehead Classic” fundraiser golf tournament will be here soon. The well deserving students and our local UW Chapter thank you for your support and dedication to the great cause. This is our largest fund raising event of the year for local UW - Madison students.

TIJERAS CREEK GOLF CLUB in Rancho Santa Margarita remains our scenic destination. Wisconsin Badger and Iowa Hawkeye friends will come together in search of one more copper etching just below the wicker cranium trophy.

The all inclusive price for golf, dinner, contests, prizes, auctions etc. is just $170.

Everyone is welcome, golfers with or without a handicap. For those with handicaps or who have played in the last several years, please provide a best guess of your handicap on the official sign up form. Please also note the name or names of other golfers that you would like to team up with. You will see email reminders and some nice incentives for being a hole sponsor this year, along with playing in a foursome. For non-golfers, you can also support the great cause and enjoy an “All you can Eat” Brunch Buffet, raffle, silent auction etc.

The cost for all of this is just $25.00.

To register, send your check (payable to UW Alumni Club of Orange County) to Susie Lynch at 25672 Dillon Road, Laguna Hills, CA 92653.

For any questions or additional information, feel free to contact Joe Fischman at 949-232- 5959. We all thank you for making this scholarship fundraiser a fun event to support our local students.

    Soft Power
    Ahmanson Theatre

    May 3 – June 10, 2018

    World Premiere

A contemporary comedy explodes into a musical fantasia in the first collaboration between two of America’s great theatre artists: Tony Award® winners David Henry Hwang (M. Butterfly, Flower Drum Song) and Jeanine Tesori (Fun Home). Soft Power rewinds our recent political history and plays it back through a Chinese lens: a future, beloved East-meets-West musical. A Chinese executive visiting America finds himself falling in love with a good-hearted US leader—Hillary Clinton—as the power balance between their two countries shifts following the 2016 election. As original as it is topical, Soft Power overflows with the romance, laughter, and cultural confusions of the golden age of Broadway. Hwang and Tesori have created one of the most eagerly anticipated new works of the year.

    soft pow·er (noun)

a persuasive approach to international relations, typically involving the use of cultural influence.

Produced in association with East West Players.

Go to and type in DHHWANG to purchase $49 Orchestra seats (normally $75) for select early performances!

Three Acclaimed Plays Tell One Extraordinary American Story

Los Angeles audiences will have the rare opportunity to follow Quiara Alegría Hudes’ Elliot Trilogy playing concurrently at theatres across the city in early 2018. Center Theatre Group's production of Pulitzer finalist Elliot, A Soldier's Fugue (at the Kirk Douglas Theatre January 27 through February 25, 2018) and Pulitzer winner Water by the Spoonful (at the Mark Taper Forum January 31 through March 11) will be joined by Latino Theater Company's production of the final installment of the trilogy The Happiest Song Plays Last (at the Los Angeles Theatre Center February 17 through March 19). It is the first time all three plays will run at the same time in one city. Learn more at

    Elliot: A Soldier’s Fugue
    January 27 – February 25, 2018

    Kirk Douglas Theatre

    Downtown Culver City

Elliot Ortiz is a young soldier, like his Pop was before him, like his abuelo before him. But despite the things they share—their love of music, their love of each other, and their experiences of war—they can’t communicate, even when they desperately need to.

This powerful portrait of a Puerto Rican military family is a breathtaking symphony of music, memories, and the things that mark our bodies…and our souls.

    Water By The Spoonful

    January 31- March 11, 2018

    Mark Taper Forum

    Downtown L.A.

A janitor. A software mogul. A college grad. An IRS paper-pusher. Although they live thousands of miles apart, these four people share a secret: they’re recovering addicts who have found a safe haven in an online chat room. There, with liberal doses of jokes and bullying, they help each other navigate the broken terrain of their lives. But when an Iraq War veteran’s tragedy spills over into their cyberhome, everything changes. This fearless Pulitzer Prize-winning play challenges our notions of family, forgiveness, community, and courage.
